HOW TO MAKE THIS CHOCO BANANA PEANUT BUTTER PROTEIN SMOOTHIE ?
Ingredients
Banana is a great source of healthy carbs, and contains zero fats. It is a super versatile ingredient I love to put everywhere, very easy to plug in your diet. It is great for pre/post work out, on the go, fresh and sliced with nut butter, in a cake.. anywhere really! It is a go to ingredient for a healthy digestive system, and can contribute to weight loss as they keep you full longer. High source of potassium and magnesium, it is great for healthy blood pressure and heart health. So many good reasons to eat one banana a day. Using frozen banana will give a nice texture to the smoothie, it also will work with fresh banana.
Peanut butter is one of my truest weakness, I tend to lick the spoon often enough to get my healthy fats and proteins, that’s for sure! Peanut butter is good for your health in moderate amounts. Just make sure to get the one with no extra added oils or sugars, as it wouldn’t be a health ingredient anymore. It is very high in protein content compared to other plant based ingredients, therefore is a great post work out ingredient.
Chocolate protein powder is an ingredient I love to use in chocolate flavoured recipes to avoid using sweetened chocolate chips or cacao powder. My protein powder from Orgain is a blend that contains superfoods and prebiotics/fiber.
Date is one of my favourite natural sweetener. I put them a bit everywhere as they are also a great source of potassium, magnesium, copper, manganese, iron and vitamin B6. It is high in fructose but it’s a natural sugar. Dates are also packed in anti oxidants such as flavonoids (may help reduce the risk of diabetes), carotenoids (promotes heart and eye health), and phenolic acid (may help prevent/reduce cancer and heart disease ).
Almond milk is my go to plant based milk, you can totally use oat or cashew milk for this smoothie as well. Costco offers the better deals on unsweetened vanilla almond milk than oat milk these days.
Ice is a nice way to add extra texture for the smoothie
